Mammal fossils are some of the most desirable and unique finds in the Peace River. Florida had an incredible biodiverse ecosystem with megafauna such as ground sloths, mammoths and mastodons wandering during the ice age and predators such as dire wolves, jaguars and sabertooth tigers. Besides this there were also the more mundane animals such as rodents, raccoons and possums. Due to this diversity I will break this page up into sections by type of mammal.
